Lizardfolk

Cold-blooded and unblinking, the Lizardfolk — the Hiss'Gar, the Hiss People — crawl from the mangrove and the drowned ruins where warmer beasts fear to tread. Scaled, crested and patient beyond mortal patience, they bask until the moment to strike.

The Gar legends name them moonfallen: the kindred that came down from the Shattered Moon in the Elder Ages, along the Floating Islands, to war with the Throg'Gar for the world below. Once they were its great temple-builders, raising colossal pyramids; no longer. Their empire is millennia gone to ruin and the Hiss'Gar themselves have fallen, sunk to a cold, cunning near-beast that haunts the wreck of its ancestors' temples. In Garuun their water is The Swamp, and it is theirs alone.
