Attributes
Your character is defined by four attributes, each rising from 1 to 12. Every level-up grants two attribute points; spend them on the Character screen (F2). A skill can only be learned once its governing attribute is high enough, so where you invest decides which arts open to you.
STRENGTH (STR) — muscle and might. Each point adds +1 to your raw melee damage, whether you fight armed or bare-handed (unarmed strikes start at 4). Governs the mighty arts: harvesting, mining, smithing, hauling, stamina and the heaviest blows.
AGILITY (AGI) — speed and finesse. Each point adds +1 to the raw damage of your bows, crossbows and firearms (not thrown weapons). Governs stealth, climbing, dodging, riding and the swift killing arts.
INTELLIGENCE (INT) — wit and learning. Each point widens your Focus pool by 1%. Governs crafting, cooking, brewing, trapping, repair and the healer's craft.
PERCEPTION (PER) — senses and instinct. Each point slows how fast Focus drains by 1%. Governs fishing, foraging, tracking, lockpicking and the marksman's eye.
